Peninsula Community Mental Health had 14 veterans stop by asking questions related to PTSD and depression, along with picking up information for themselves, family members, or friends. Of the 14 that stopped by, 3 identified themselves as being homeless and having lived on in the forest around the "west end" for years. All 3 stated that they were thinking about getting medical and mental health services started through the VA, which they have avoided for years but age issues have pressured them into looking into the option. They felt that if it wasn't for the stand down they wouldn't be able to have the opportunity.

Health screening gave service to 32 veterans including reading glasses, blood pressures, blood sugar testing, over the counter medications (cough syrup, Motrin, Pepcid). Medical condition consults, burn dressing supplies. Eye exam and glasses as indicated (prescription to WalMart), and an eye exam and referral to Northwest Eye Clinic for possible glaucoma. Pneumonia and tetanus shots.

The barber gave dozens of haircuts.

A hot breakfast was served with sausage, eggs, pancakes, coffee and doughnuts. Lunch was taco soup, chili, sandwiches and a green salad along with homemade pies.
