Sarge's Place:
Sarges Place is a transitional housing project designed
to provide safe and stable housing for both men and women
homeless veterans who are committed to returning to employment
and/or independent living.
Sarges Place will provide structure in a respectful,
clean and sober environment with access to individual and
group chemical dependency counseling, mental health counseling,
employment services, and life skills groups. Sarges
Place will provide Veterans with assistance, encouragement,
and needed support services to foster lasting stability while
assisting Veterans in reaching personal goals to help break

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Homeless Care Line;
They provide electronic access to the VA medical center to
check on appointments. They have information on the VA homeless
shelter in Seattle. They provide information on the substance
abuse treatment programs with the VA and they also act as
a “clearing house” of information on services available to
the homeless veteran population.
The VA Outreach Coordinator;
Providing picture identification cards for veterans, and also
has online access to veteran records which would verify a
veteran’s status for eligibility of services from the VA.
A “service officer” who can assist the veteran in application
for services from the VA such as medical, optical and hearing
prosthetics as well as compensation and pension information
for service connected disabilities.
Washington State Employment Security Department Veterans Unit:
Provides counseling for the homeless veterans looking for
work, they also provide resume services as well as identifying
those who are eligible for unemployment insurance. They assist
in identifying what barriers need to be overcome and help
to lay out to the homeless veteran what services are available
to overcome those barriers. They also provide internet access
to thousands of job listings statewide (hundreds of thousands
nation wide), computerized local job matching and direct referrals,
labor market information, and day/casual labor.
Clallam County Veterans’ Assistant:
This office is available for counseling and assistance on
what resources are available in Clallam County; they also
monitor the veterans’ relief fund. Members of the Clallam
County Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee are on the premises
to process applications to the veterans’ relief fund.
Clallam County Veterans’ Center: ( DAV )
The service officers from the Clallam County Veterans Center
provide advocacy for those veterans who need to file paperwork
with the VA. To help the veteran in any possible way in assisting
them in their reintegration.
Serenity House of Clallam County:
They provide emergency shelter for the homeless veteran and their families. They also provide single adult shelter for those who are in need.
Peninsula Community Mental Health:
Is contracted with the VA. To do mental health screenings for veterans and make appointments for follow up counseling.
Olympic Peninsula Community Action (OlyCap): They provide services to the low income residents of the north Olympic Peninsula these services include:
A Long-Term Care Division; which provides Home Care services to elderly and disabled adults needing domestic and personal care assistance. This division also operates the Adult Action Center in Port Angeles, a daycare for disabled elders or adults suffering from some form of dementia.
The Housing Authority of Clallam County:
The housing authority is present to provide assistance for any veterans who might be eligible for section eight housing or to help with any other government subsidized housing to include single and family dwellings.
Pro Bono lawyers of Clallam County:
Legal aid is a hand up to help veterans with advice on how to best relieve a legal burden that might be a barrier to his or hers reintegration and/or employment.
Sequim Community Help Center:
A job resource center in Sequim providing gas vouchers and bus passes for those who need transportation for work searches and medical visits. Assisting veterans and the local people in need through financial counseling, while being an advocacy to reach other services in Clallam County.
Salvation Army:
They provide food donations, clothing donations as well as their emergency mobile canteen which provides hot and cold beverages at the Stand Down.
Olympic Community Action Programs (OlyCAP)

. The
OlyCAP
Oral
Health
Center
will provide hygiene and dental care to low-income, uninsured people.
It will also serve as the site for clinical education for students in
dental hygiene offered through a collaboration of Peninsula and
Pierce
Colleges
.
